Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HonestyHive ("the Platform", "we", "us", or "our") at honestyhive.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Platform. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and HonestyHive. Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy at honestyhive.com/legal/privacy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Account Registration

• Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 must have parental or guardian consent. To participate in the affiliate programme and receive payouts, you must be at least 18 years old.
• One account per person: You may register only one account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate ratings or Trust Scores is strictly prohibited.
• Accurate information: You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. Impersonating another person or entity is prohibited.
• Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at team@honestyhive.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. User Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of the Buzzes and other content you create and publish on HonestyHive ("User Content").

Licence to HonestyHive

By publishing User Content, you grant HonestyHive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, display, distribute, reproduce, and promote your content on and through the Platform, including in social media previews and search engine indexing. This licence continues even if you deactivate your account, but ends when you specifically delete individual content. If you delete your account without first deleting your content, HonestyHive may retain and continue to display your published Buzzes in anonymised form (with your profile information removed) to preserve the integrity of product pages and Trust Score history. To request complete removal of all your content, contact team@honestyhive.com.

Content Standards

User Content must not:

• Be plagiarised — you must be the original author or have rights to publish the content
• Be defamatory, false, or misleading
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Contain malware, spam, or unsolicited commercial content

Deletion

You may delete your content at any time from your profile. Deleted content is removed from public view immediately and purged from our servers within 30 days.

4. Trust Score & Community Ratings

The Trust Score is a platform metric calculated from community ratings submitted by other users on your Buzzes. Helpfulness is the required rating dimension; Accuracy, Detail, and Honesty are optional additional dimensions readers may rate. Trust Scores, combined with your total ratings received and number of published Buzzes, determine your reviewer tier, feed visibility, and affiliate revenue share percentage.

• HonestyHive does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fairness of any Trust Score.
• Community ratings reflect the subjective opinions of individual users and are not endorsed by HonestyHive.
• Attempting to artificially inflate or manipulate Trust Scores — including through coordinated voting, self-rating, or paid ratings — is grounds for immediate account suspension.
• HonestyHive reserves the right to adjust, recalibrate, or remove Trust Scores to maintain platform integrity.

5. Affiliate Programme

Affiliate links: HonestyHive automatically generates affiliate-tagged product links on behalf of reviewers where applicable. Reviewers tag products in their Buzzes; the platform generates and controls all affiliate links. Reviewers never create, manage, or have access to affiliate links directly.

Revenue tiers: Affiliate revenue is shared based on your reviewer tier:

• New (default): 65% reviewer / 35% platform
• Trusted (Trust Score 70+, 25+ ratings, 5+ published Buzzes): 75% reviewer / 25% platform
• Expert (Trust Score 85+, 100+ ratings, 15+ published Buzzes): 85% reviewer / 15% platform

All three requirements must be met simultaneously to qualify for a tier. These rates are permanent and apply from day one — there is no introductory or promotional pricing period.

Payment processing fees: Standard payment processing fees (charged by Stripe or PayPal) are deducted from the reviewer's payout. These are third-party fees, not fees charged by HonestyHive.

Minimum payout: Earnings are paid out once your balance reaches $50 USD.

Payment schedule: Payouts are processed monthly on the 15th via Stripe Connect or PayPal, depending on your selected payout method. You must complete onboarding with at least one payment provider to receive payouts.

Revenue share changes: HonestyHive reserves the right to adjust revenue share percentages with at least 30 days advance notice to affected users.

No earnings guarantee: Participation in the affiliate programme does not guarantee any level of earnings. Click volume and conversion rates vary and are not controlled by HonestyHive.

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited and may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban:

• Publishing fake, fabricated, or deliberately misleading reviews
• Rating your own Buzzes or coordinating with others to inflate ratings
• Manipulating Trust Scores through any artificial means
• Spamming the platform with duplicate, low-quality, or auto-generated content
• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• Impersonating another person, business, or brand
• Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to post content or submit ratings
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or bypass platform security measures

7. AI Moderation

HonestyHive uses AI-powered tools (including Claude by Anthropic) to analyse User Content for quality, authenticity, and policy compliance. AI moderation may flag content that appears to be low-quality, potentially deceptive, or in violation of these Terms. Flagged content may be temporarily hidden pending human review.

AI analysis is a tool to assist our moderation team and does not replace human judgment. You may appeal any moderation decision by contacting team@honestyhive.com.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that a user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or poses a risk to the platform or its users. You may close your account at any time by contacting team@honestyhive.com.

9. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

HonestyHive makes no guarantee of affiliate earnings, traffic, or platform availability. Review content represents the opinions of individual users, not HonestyHive.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HONESTYHIVE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the total affiliate earnings paid to you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California for any disputes not subject to arbitration.

12. Dispute Resolution

Binding Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except as otherwise provided herein.

Class Action Waiver

YOU AND HONESTYHIVE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. If a court decides this waiver is unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void.

Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court. Either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice via email to the address on your account. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may close your account.
